New openings and reopenings
The tourism sector in Ticino continues to evolve, with new facilities and initiatives enhancing the different regions of the canton. In the Locarno area, notable openings include the Hampton by Hilton in Locarno, the Dorint Resort & Spa in Riazzino, and the Osteria Giardino in Bordei in the Centovalli, led by chef Pietro Leemann, combining vegetarian cuisine with authentic hospitality in a stunning natural setting.
In the Lugano area, highlights include the renovated Swiss Diamond Boutique Hotel La Romantica in Melide, offering elegant rooms and suites with lake views, a gourmet restaurant, and prestigious event spaces, as well as the Locanda della Masseria, with its cozy rooms on the outskirts of Lugano.
Other infrastructural highlights include the reopening of Monte Tamaro, where the cable car system has been fully renovated with modern 8-person cabins and a new panoramic terrace that will be completed in the coming weeks, and the new CMFG Arena in Sigirino, a modern, multifunctional venue designed for sports, cultural, and corporate events.
