Sustainability & environment

Important values in Ticino, an added value for your event.

Ticino...

Swisstainable

Ticino: immersed in the natural beauty of the Alps and characterised by rich biodiversity, but also committed to protecting and enhancing its precious environment.

The aim is to continue to improve its ecological footprint and to promote more sustainable tourism throughout the destination, thanks to its adhesion to various initiatives and collaboration with valuable partners.

In order to obtain the Swisstainable label, we signed a declaration of commitment, and defined three goals to be achieved over the next two years. The first concerns the implementation of a decarbonization strategy that will will allow us to reduce fossil fuel consumption to zero. The second one closely touches the mobility of the whole canton and, in particular, the Ticino Ticket, with a commitment to ensure its long-term existence and fully digital. The third goal is the enhancement of communication to incentivize tourists and partners to have a more sustainable behavior.

Ticino’s first “MICE” wine

Every year, as Ticino Convention Bureau we receive a number of direct requests regarding the organisation of corporate events, meetings, seminars and incentive trips. To thank you all for your interest in our region, we have decided to convert your MICE requests into investments dedicated to promoting the local area

Working in partnership with Vini & Distillati Angelo Delea SA, we planted in 2018 the first 94 vine plants in a new vineyard in Quartino, which produced the first wine dedicated to the MICE segment.

4'000 stocks were born from these first plants, leading to the production of 4,000 bottles in the 2022 vintage.

'Blank Angel' is not just a name, but a tribute to the founder of the Delea Winery. His vision made it possible to create a white Merlot from white grapes, an exception in the world of Merlot wines - and a world first!
