The Carlo Basilico hall, once dining hall for the workers at the tobacco manufacturing plants Fabbriche Riunite Polus e Industria Ticinese Tabacchi SA was decorated with twelve monochrome graffiti by the Chiasso born artist Carlo Basilico (1895-1966), all representing places in the Mendrisiotto district.
In 2008 the hall was renovated and modernized and is now available to companies, associations and private individuals as a well equipped conference and event facility.
