IRB - Institute for Research in Biomedicine
The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) was founded in 2000 in Bellinzona with the mission of improving understanding of how the body defends itself from infections, tumours and degenerative diseases. Since then, the IRB has become a leading center of excellence in immunology research, and researchers have been appointed Professors at the ETH and the EPFL, as well as at the most important Swiss and Italian Universities.
In 2009 the IRB signed an agreement with the ETH and in 2010 the IRB became affiliated to USI.
To be seen with the interested persons: we can propose a conference to explain what we do and the discoveries already made at the IRB and this would be followed by a visit of a laboratory. Due to safety reasons, visits can be done only upon appointments taken well in advance.
