Since 1982, the theatre has welcomed thousands of artists from Ticino, Switzerland, but also from abroad. It presents theatre programmes throughout the year. But music, cinema, lectures and not infrequently exhibitions are also at home. Over the years, other initiatives have been added to its programmes. Firstly, the international theatre and music festival 'Il Teatro in Festa', held every year in the last week of July. Immediately afterwards, in conjunction with the Locarno Film Festival, the legendary 'Bistrot Teatro Paravento' opens its doors, attracting several hundred visitors every evening. These events are held in the magical courtyard behind the theatre. A space that, thanks to these events, has been revalorised and put at the service of a good cause: culture.
