Old patrician house in Loco in the wild, remote and romantic Onsernone Valley, close to Locarno and Lake Maggiore. A special retreat ideal for small meetings away from crowds and busy towns.The building has been entirely renovated in 1996 and since then used for various purposes. The building has two dorms with 13 beds each and three rooms with 9 beds, 1 multi-functional meeting room and a furnished kitchen with dining room and a vast terrace with a panoramic view. Grocery store, post office and bus station are within 30 m. A bakery with local specialities is at 1,5 km. Numerous hikes, mountaineering, climbing and canyoning can be practised nearby.
The village of Loco has a small local history museum and a mill, still used periodically to produce a special flour (“farina bona”) from organic wheat, which is the main ingredient for local icecream (“gelato”) and sweets.
