The term ‘Ayurveda’ is made up of two words: Ayus and Veda. Ayus stands for life and Veda for knowledge: their union leads to the Science of Knowledge of Life. In it, the thought is widespread that mealtime can be an excellent opportunity to meditate.
Didier is president of the Dhanwantari Association and collaborates with the Nadesh Ayurveda Centre for Ayurvedic Therapies: he was part of a spiritual community in India where he cultivated knowledge of the Vedas by elaborating the theory of the Relationship between tastes and emotions, and he will make us discover the importance of the relationship between food and its sacredness, of how body, mind and spirit contribute to making us feel in harmony.
The experience is designed to get to know each other better through typical Ayurvedic tests. According to Ayurveda, human beings are characterised by 3 bio energies - Tri Dosha - which influence their body and mind. One or more of these bio energies predominates in each of us. Discovering which of these influences us the most allows us to accept certain characteristics and/or, where they are the cause of imbalances, to compensate for them with small measures.
This will be followed by a buffet with information about the doshas; the vegetarian buffet is designed to cater for the tastes of the three bio energies and it will be interesting for participants to discover which foods they are attracted to and which they need. Name tags will facilitate the culinary journey.
